Ushering in A New Era of Hope

In October 2020, young people will gather virtually with the determination to usher in a new era of hope! Seven unique events will be hosted online across Canada (organized by youth in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, East Region and Winnipeg).

Youth from each of the cities will hold a virtual youth festival featuring inspiring stories of personal breakthroughs, insightful speeches and dynamic cultural performances.
The goal of the festivals is to encourage and empower each young person to make a great determination, to break through any challenge and achieve their dreams!

“We, the youth of Canada, are taking a stand to demonstrate the power of the human spirit.
We have the strength to persevere with hope and remain undefeated in the face of any difficulty.”

"We believe that Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism, a humanistic philosophy of infinite respect for the sanctity of life and all-encompassing compassion, enables individuals to cultivate and bring forth their inherent wisdom and, nurturing the creativity of the human spirit, to surmount the difficulties and crises facing humankind and realize a society of peaceful and prosperous coexistence.

We are determined to raise high the banner of world citizenship, the spirit of tolerance, and respect for human rights based on the humanistic spirit of Buddhism, and to challenge the global issues that face humankind through dialogue and practical efforts based on a steadfast commitment to nonviolence."
